Winners of the Indianapolis Prize
To date, there have been two winners of the Indianapolis Prize.
- 2006 Inaugural Recipient: Dr. George Archibald of the International Crane Foundation
- 2008 Recipient: Dr. George Schaller of the Wildlife Conservation Society.
The Indianapolis Prize is privileged to have two of the most distinguised and accomplished field biologists as its first two award winners. Both Dr. Archibald and Dr. Schaller have contributed enormously to the cause of animal conservation.
The nominees for the 2010 Indianapolis Prize have been announced, and the finalists will be announced in early 2010. The next recipient of the Indianapolis Prize will be announced in summer 2010 and will be awarded the Prize, the $100,000 monetary award, and the Lilly Medal at a special Gala at the Westin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis on September 25, 2010.
