What's Blooming Now - June 21, 2011
Welcome to Summer!

Summer has officially arrived, and with all the rain this spring, the Gardens are lush.  The Horticulture Staff is going full blast working to make the Gardens beautiful.  Just take a look at the gorgeous summer color that is on display at the moment.  Annuals are featured in these containers in the Asymmetry Garden inside the Polly Hix Design Gardens (right), and the coleus and canna planting titled "Fire and Ice," also in the Design Gardens. (left)
 
The lilies, butterflyweed and other early summer perennials are at their peak in the Virginia Fairbanks Sun Garden.  Some of the prettiest displays are in containers throughout the Gardens.  Here are just a few samples:
