What's Blooming Now - Color Continues Into October!

October 15, 2010

The changing fall leaves are not the only colors here at White River Gardens. Take a stroll throughout the Gardens and you will still see some of our plants from previous What’s Blooming segments going strong, as well as some new additions. This week, our featured flowers come to us from the Ruth Lilly Shade Garden. If you are skeptical that you can add color to your shady spot, just take a look at Solidago caesia (Blue Stem or Wreath Goldenrod), Aster cordifolius (Blue Wood Aster) and Begonia grandis (Hardy Begonia). Also found in the Ruth Lilly Shade Garden and recently added to a bed at the front doors to White River Gardens is Monkshood (Aconitum carmichaelii ‘Ardensii’), with its beautiful blue hooded flowers.
