Conservation and Education Based Opportunities
Through amazing conservation projects
and inspirational education programs, the Zoo is able to achieve its mission
and, more importantly, change the way visitors view the world around
them. The Indianapolis Zoo is very proud of its ongoing conservation
activities and educational programs. The Zoo encourages companies to
be involved with these programs through credible cause-related
sponsorships. Just some of the opportunities include:
 Research
Programs
One method the Indianapolis Zoo has taken to contribute to conservation is
the development of an in-house program for scientific investigation.
The
Indianapolis Zoo continues to support research and conservation projects
conducted by our own staff on keystone species within our collection, as
well as organizations worldwide that support endangered animals large and
small. When you join in our passion for the planet and make a gift to
the Zoo, you not only impact the life of animals and plants in our care but
you also support global conservation. What we do in all ways here in
Indiana truly affects life in all ways around our shared – and mutually
threatened – earthly home. An advisory Research Sub-Committee
consisting of professionals from the veterinary, medical and education
communities provides guidance and instruction. Sponsorship of the Zoo’s
Research Programs includes support recognition in news releases, on-grounds
signage, and recognition in all Conservation Day advertising and collateral
pieces.

 Distance learning
brings nature LIVE to
classrooms! Through distance learning technology, students are able to
travel from the plains of Africa to the deepest parts of the Amazon
rainforest without leaving the classroom. As one of the first zoos in
the country to offer two-way interactive video adventures, the Indianapolis
Zoo connects with students across Indiana and throughout the United States.
Students learn about the Earth, the environment, and the wonderful range of
creatures that share it during each of these video adventures. The
distance-learning program expands their classroom walls beyond their
community.
