 The
Indianapolis Zoo hosted over 250 guests for the 2012 edition of the
International Wine Auction at the Conrad Indianapolis Hotel Downtown on
March 17. This unique fundraiser included a gourmet dinner, fine
wines, and the chance to acquire zoonique items like behind-the-scenes Zoo
visits, as well as luxurious travel packages, fine jewelry, and art.
The opportunity to contribute to the Fund-A-Need during the auction was
highly anticipated, as in years’ past. This year’s Fund-A-Need went to
help give the wonders of the natural world to Hoosier families by assisting
the Zoo in providing 500 annual Zoo Memberships to Head Start families.
The Fund-A-Need participation this year was extremely high and the Zoo looks
forward to being able to provide these memberships to families who may
otherwise never have the opportunity to visit the Zoo.
 This
year’s Elegant Vintages International Wine Auction set many records never
before achieved:

The event was sold out for the first time in its history, selling over 250
seats and more than half at the top level ticket price.
▪
We had more donations and higher auction bids, and therefore raised more
money than ever before.
This event continues to improve in quality each year and with great thanks
