 You
have the opportunity to join the Zoo in a mass recycling effort held twice a
year! At the Power Recycling Weekend presented by
Ingram Micro, you can get rid of
all your clutter and help the environment, too! Just drop
off your old electronics, phone books and paper ready for shredding in the Zoo
parking lot. Our recycling partners will take it from there. In addition to
doing good, you will receive a $2.00 discount coupon for Zoo admission.
The Power Recycling Weekend event held in April collected more than 11 tons
of old electronics, 2,816 pounds of paper and 550 pounds of clothing
donations!
Examples of the items that will be accepted during Power
Recycling Weekend are:
• Printers • Palm Pilots/PDAs • VCRs
• Copiers • Game Systems • Microphones
• Metals • Surge Protectors • Microwaves
• Motors • Cash Registers • Cell Phones
• Monitors • Fax Machines • Power Cables
• Scanners • Power Supplies • Computers*
• Laptops • Electronic Wiring • TVs*
*$5 processing fee for TV’s and monitors.
All computer hard drives will be double-swiped clean before
being destroyed.
Paper recycling will be offered compliments of
Shred Monkey. Limit of three boxes of paper per
car, please. You can also recycle your old phone books,
compliments of
YP.

The Zoo is pleased to partner with
Goodwill for this event. Bring your new and gently used clothes, household items, furniture, books, toys
and more to benefit Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana.
