Mother’s Day Weekend
The Indianapolis Zoo will put the
spotlight on all moms — both human and animal — Mother’s Day weekend! Did
you know that a mother elephant carries her children for 22 months? Or that
a Guinea baboon usually bears only one baby every two years? Join us from 9am-5pm May
11 and 12 to learn more remarkable
insights about several of our animal families while you enjoy a weekend with your own.
We'll have lots of
family-oriented activities sure to make moms smile. We’ll hand out stickers
to all mothers as a small token of our appreciation and to allow us to
recognize these amazing women as they go through the Zoo
with their families
and friends. Then, adventure seekers can follow the clues in our scavenger
hunt to discover several animal mothers throughout the Zoo. Once you've
found all the clues, head to our Garden's Gift Shop to receive a special gift!
Make sure to stop by all of the "mom-themed" keeper chats and enrichment
activities held throughout the day with our elephant, walrus, horticulture,
butterfly and penguin staff.
can remember all the fun by snapping some photos at our some special
Mother’s Day photo stations.
To make this experience even more
unique, moms can get a free Mother's Day cupcake.
Free single hand with the purchase of a mat and frame ($9.95 value!).
