Check back in the summer for 2014 event details!
to all who came out for our 2013 event! Mark your calendars for next year's
Hispanic Heritage Fiesta that will be held on Sept. 21, 2014! At
Hispanic Heritage Fiesta you can kick
off National Hispanic Heritage Month with a trip to the Zoo for the
annual Hispanic Heritage Fiesta presented in partnership with La Voz de
Indiana! Celebrate the culture and traditions of
Latin America through a variety of special afternoon activities fit for the whole
National Hispanic Heritage Month officially begins Sept. 15 each year — the
anniversary of independence for the Latin American countries of Costa Rica,
El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. During our celebration, our
guests are invited to enhance their Zoo experience with festivities that
celebrate Hispanic culture. We'll have decorations, activities,
Latin-inspired food and more!
See rain on the radar? Don’t worry because in the case of
inclement weather, the festivities will relocate inside the
Zoo’s Party Pavilion. Nothing can stop the fiesta fun!
Children can meet Maya and Miguel from WFYI, create
culturally themed crafts and take a swing at a piñata
A mariachi band will perform from noon to 3pm in the Zoo’s Entry
Plaza. Plus, kids can create their own Latin-inspired rhythm at
the instrument petting zoo.
The Zoo will also spotlight animals native to Latin
American countries, and guests who follow the scavenger hunt
clues to find all the animals will receive a special gift. Follow
Twitter to get access to a special discount
coupon for this event!
