Q: How long is my membership
active?
A: Memberships expire 365 days from date of purchase; active renewed
memberships maintain their current expiration date.
Q: How long after I purchase a
membership will I receive my membership card?
A: If you purchase the cards at the front gate, you will receive your
permanent cards immediately. If you purchase them through the mail, phone,
or online you will receive your card within 2 weeks. However, during
this time you may obtain a temporary card at the Membership Services window
at the Zoo's front gate with valid photo ID.
Q: I have not yet received my
membership cards in the mail and I want to visit the zoo, what can I do?
A: If you are an active member, you will need to show valid photo ID at the
Membership Services window to receive a temporary card until you receive
your permanent cards in the mail (typically within five to 10 business days). You
can call the Membership office at (317) 630-2046 to check the status of your
membership.
Q: Can I renew my membership
online?
A: Yes, you can purchase your membership online.
Once you have purchased it online, you will
receive a confirmation e-mail which can be printed and brought to the Zoo if
you choose to visit before
your receive your membership cards. Your permanent
cards will arrive in the mail within five to 10 business days. You can also purchase your membership over
the phone by calling (317) 630-2046, or at the front gate on your next
visit.
Q: What should I do if I’ve
lost my membership card?
A: Membership cards can be replaced for a $5 reissue fee. You can do this on
your next visit to the Zoo at the Membership Services window, or over the
phone by calling (317) 630-2046.
Q: Can I heat laminate my
membership card?
A: No, the Indianapolis Zoo membership cards are made of a heat-sensitive
material that will cause them to turn black if they are heat laminated.
We encourage you to use cold contact paper.
Q: Can my friend or relative
borrow my membership card?
A: No, memberships are nontransferable and are intended only for the primary
individuals listed on the membership cards.
Q: Will my membership at the
Indianapolis Zoo obtain admittance to other zoos?
A: You will need to contact the zoo that you plan on visiting as each zoo
has different policies. Currently, the Indianapolis Zoo offers members
of other AZA institutions a 10% discount on general admission.
Q: Can a relative or friend
use my Family +2 membership if I am not present?
A: No, one of the two primary cardholders must be present in order to get
two additional guests into the Zoo.
Q: Do I receive a discount on
any additional guests that I bring?
A: Yes, Zoo members enjoy a discount on admission for guests that accompany
them.
Q: Do I have to pay extra for
events like Halloween ZooBoo or Christmas at the Zoo?
A: No. Halloween ZooBoo, Christmas at the
Zoo, and concert series Zoolapalooza and Animals & All That Jazz are covered by your membership card. Typically members enjoy a discount
on other special events as well.
Q: What is the eNews and
how do I sign-up?
A: The eNews is our monthly electronic newsletter that contains cool exclusive
features, articles and animal stories. It also contains valuable
information about upcoming events and special opportunities for members.
You can send us an
e-mail to sign-up for our monthly eNews. Please provide the names
listed on your membership, as well as your member number,
which is
located above the barcode, to the right of the expiration date on your membership card.
Q: Does my membership cover
parking?
A: Yes, with your membership card, you can receive free parking when
visiting the Zoo during regular Zoo hours. This is a $6 savings every
time you visit.
Q: Do I get free admission
with my membership?
A: Yes! You can even use your membership the same day you purchase it.
Q: Will I get to see new
exhibits before the general public?
A: Yes, we give our members a sneak peek at new animal exhibits.
