How to Volunteer

these four easy steps to become a Volunteer:
1. Submit a Volunteer Application.
We are currently accepting
volunteer applications for Orangutan Naturalists through August 2013.

2. Attend a Volunteer
Program Introduction. The following dates are
available:
• 1pm June 8
• 6:30pm Aug. 1
• 6:30pm Aug. 26
• 1pm Sept. 28
Please RSVP for the Volunteer Program Introduction to to
volunteer@indyzoo.com or call 317-630-2041.
3. After
attending a Volunteer Program Introduction, Volunteer Office
will contact interested candidates to schedule an interview.
This allows the Volunteer Services Staff to learn as much
as possible about the person's interests, experiences, and
motivation and to assess the needs and expectations of the Zoo
at that time. General policies and legal documentation will
also be explained. Specific work assignments may be made during
the interview. Interviews generally last one hour.
4. If offered a Volunteer
position, the applicant must attend New Volunteer Orientation
prior to their first day of volunteering. The Orientation
reviews Zoo Policies, Safety and Security Procedures. New
Volunteers become activated only after attending Orientation.
